All praise for Mohammad Ashraful who won the heart of his fellow countrymen once again with a fabulous innings to prove the critics wrong that Bangladesh is mentally weak against Sri Lanka.
The Chittagonians witnessed the young prodigy encounter the champion bowlers of the world with maturity. He is a big star of a small country.
The youngster finally fulfilled the demand of his fans and captain who appealed for consistency in his batting.
The batting prodigy proved his consistency with the bat in the ongoing home series against Sri Lanka.
After his match winning 51 in the second one-dayer at Bogra, followed up with 64 in the third and last one-day match of the series, he kept the Sri Lanka bowling at bay in the first Test as well to cheer up the whole stadium.
Bangladesh coach Dev Whatmore paid tribute to him saying, "The responsibility and confidence of Ashraful has been growing up."
In his reaction during the post match session he said, "I am concentrating on my own game and confident for a better show after the two back to back half century in the last two ODIs to change the recent statistics against Sri Lanka.”
The Tigers' hero commented, "The wicket is very good for batting and I never felt shaky to play the world's best off-spinner and my courage helped me a lot on the crease."
