Bangladeshi sports journalists have decided to continue boycott the coverage of Bangladesh-Australia second and final Test until the police personnel responsible for attacks on journalists on Sunday are brought to justice.

The press box remained empty for the second successive day as Australia took firm grip of the game on the third day at the Chittagong Divisional Stadium, thanks to Jason Gillespie's maiden Test century.

Fast bowler Gillespie, who shook the Bangladesh innings with three early wickets on the opening day, came as nightwatchman and remained unbeaten on 102 as Australia, overnight 151-2, reached 364 for three in their first innings when rain stopped play.

The entire third session was washed out after only 22 overs were played on the second day.

Gillespie, who had scored only two half-centuries prior to this match, hit 17 boundaries in an exactly 300-ball undefeated knock after resuming on 28. He was dropped just before the 50-mark by wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud off Mohammed Rafique but made most of the life to add 90 runs for the second wicket with captain Ricky Ponting, who was the day's lone casualty after making 52 off 94 balls.

Ponting was run out when Gillespie played the ball to slips and refused run for a single, inspiring Abdur Razzak to hit the non-striking stump with a direct throw.

Gillespie, who got a stare from his captain for not responding, did not frustrate the side and hung on to share a 154-run stand with Mike Hussey for the unbroken fourth wicket. Hussey, who smashed 14 boundaries in 120 balls, was just eight short of his hundred.

With two more days remaining, Australia are now 167 runs ahead against Bangladesh, who were all out for 197.

Cosgrove and Dorey to replace Martyn and Clark

Australia called up Mark Cosgrove and Brett Dorey to replace Damien Martyn and Stuart Clark for the One-Day International series against Bangladesh.

Martyn is returning to Australia on Tuesday after incurring an elbow injury which has ruled him out of the ODI series, while Clark is now back in Sydney to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

Cosgrove will join the Australian squad from England where he is currently based playing county cricket.

Dorey will depart from Brisbane on Tuesday (flight details are not known at this stage) where he has commenced his scholarship with the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence.
